Northstar
The dataroom that manages the deal for you.
Northstar is a dataroom for M&A teams — documents, diligence requests, buyer Q&A, and deal-related email in one secure workspace. With your permission, Northstar connects to your work email account — Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace — so deal-related correspondence is organized into the right deal automatically, and so you can send replies you compose in Northstar from your own address. Each person on a team connects their own mailbox and can disconnect it at any time from Settings, which revokes Northstar's access.
Google Workspace permissions we request
- gmail.readonly — lets Northstar read your email so deal-related messages and attachments can be organized into the correct deal workspace.
- gmail.send — lets Northstar send messages that you compose and explicitly choose to send from within Northstar.
Northstar's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, never sell it, and never use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models. Humans do not read your Google user data except with your permission, for security, or as required by law.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Mailbox access credentials are additionally envelope-encrypted at the application layer. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.
